EAST MILLINOCKET – Brian Kennedy, 65, died Oct. 14, 2013, in East Millinocket. He was born Nov. 27, 1947, in Island Falls, to Leon C. Kennedy and Geraldine (Rogers) Kennedy Butcher.
Brian graduated from Presque Isle High School and NMVTI. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for Great Northern Paper Co. and its successors for 28 years. He enjoyed softball, golf, fishing and most of all, his family. He was a Red Sox fan to the end.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy (Palmer) Kennedy of East Millinocket; son, Gregory and fiancée, Melissa Clibon, of Parker, Colo.; daughter and husband, Betsy and Casey Taylor of Hermon; and grandchildren, Alexxa Pasanen, Brendyn Kennedy, Katelyn Clibon, and Laura Taylor. He is also survived by sisters, Elaine Willigar of Bangor, and Loreen Kalinowski and husband, Ed, of Sherman; and stepsister, Cathy Needham and husband, Dale, of Indiana and their families. In addition to aunts, uncles and cousins, he will be missed by in-laws, Mac and Priscilla Palmer of Island Falls; and brother-in-law and his wife, Mac and Carol Palmer and their family. He was predeceased by his parents; and stepfather, Tom Butcher.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at East Millinocket Cemetery, with Billie Farrington officiating.
