SANFORD – Harold D. Tozier Jr., 77, died Oct. 15, 2013, at The Lodges Care Facility in Springvale following a period of failing health. He was born on Nov. 16, 1935, in Bucksport, one of seven children born to Harold D. and Leta M. (Brown) Tozier Sr.
Harold attended local schools and graduated from Bucksport High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958 and then served in the USAF Reserves till 1962.
Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Harold began a long and successful career in route sales; beginning with UPS and then delivering baked goods from Bucksport to several small communities up and down the coast. His children remember going out early and coming home late; often falling asleep on the floor of his delivery truck.
Harold loved his Indian motorcycle, gardening with his old Ford tractor, “Missy” and his beloved dog, Meagan.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years and life-long friend, Glenice of Sanford; his son, Glenn Tozier of Wells; his daughter, Lynette Lewis and husband, Jess, of Sanford; his grandson, Erik White and wife, Courtney, of San Antonio; his granddaughter, Shealyn Kane of Sanford; his great-granddaughter, Lorelei White of San Antonio; two special friends, Frank and Patty Coombs of Prospect; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Megan. He was predeceased by his four sisters, Margarite Tozier, Frances Tozier Metcalf, Beverly Tozier LaCrouix, and Norma Tozier Cormier; and by two brothers, Leo and Dana Tozier.
