ORLAND – William E. Leach Jr., passed away Oct. 17, 2013, at Penobscot Nursing Home. He was born June 27, 1930, the son of William and Doris Leach.
Bill retired from Champion Paper mill in 1991 where he was a crane operator in the wood yard. Bill was also and avid deer hunter in his younger days. As all his family and friends knew Bill loved to reminisce and tell stories, many of which you heard more than once.
Bill is survived by his four children, Lovina Heath, Elizabeth Conners and husband, Charlie, Lorraine Saunders and husband, David, and Tom Leach and wife, Linda. Bill is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Joann; his parents; and brother, Donald.
There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home. www.mitchelltweedie-young.com.
