MILLINOCKET – Edith Annetta (Akerly) Wheaton, wife of the late Donald H. Wheaton, 95, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born June 25, 1918, in Upper Gagetown, New Brunswick, the daughter of LeRoy Glenmore and Mildred Laurita (Estabrooks) Akerly.
Annetta was a lifelong resident of Millinocket, and was a member of First Congregational Church of Millinocket. She loved her family deeply and cherished the time she spent with them.
Annetta is survived by three children, Ron H. Wheaton and his wife, Margie, of Millinocket, Judy L. Brown and her husband, Sterling, of Milo, and Elizabeth A. Cyr and her husband, David, of Millinocket; seven grandchildren, Rodney Wheaton and Cheryl Theriault of Millinocket, Heidi Wheaton and Scott Hinkley of Minot, Melissa Wheaton and Rick Lax of Millinocket, Debbie Colburn and her husband, Allen, of Eddington, Joseph T. Ouellette and his wife, Tammy, of Virginia, Andrea Tapley and her husband, Bill, of Lisbon, and Jennifer DiMarco and her husband, Mark Misiura, of Greene; two stepgrandchildren, Shawn Cyr of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Ryan Cyr of Westbrook; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Millinocket Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Given officiating.
