PROSPECT, Ky., and WALLAGRASS – Patrick Louis Deprey, MSSW, passed from this world on Oct. 26, 2013. He was born June 6, 1964, in Fort Kent, the tenth child of 11 born to Patrick and Leone Deprey of Wallagrass.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine; brother, Thomas; and partner, William Bird. He is survived by brothers, Joel and Allen; sisters, Leonette, Priscille, Rena, Joan, Joyce, and Amy; as well partner, Mykl Blandford; and dear friend, Mimi Englert.
He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Graphic Design in 1988. He moved to Louisville, Ky., to pursue and achieve a Masters Degree in Art Therapy from the University of Louisville in 1992 and a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2012. Patrick happily impacted the lives of his clients through his loving therapy, and his family by organizing a Marin web site, dedicated to his maternal grandparent’s offspring, and many family reunions in northern and southern Maine. He organized and produced art projects such as murals in many public schools in Louisville and helped produce the local Mardi Gras celebration to support victims of hurricane Katrina.
Patrick lovingly and selflessly cared for his life partner, Bill, through his many years of deteriorating health and honored him after his passing in 2012. Unfortunately Patrick was diagnosed with fourth stage pancreatic cancer in August of this year and was rapidly overcome with the spread of this aggressive disease.
He asks that his family and friends be comforted by his memory whenever we see a rainbow and butterfly as he will thereby always continue to color our world with beauty.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Soldier Pond.
