HAMPDEN – Adam Kearns, 25, went to the Lord on Nov. 2, 2013, after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born June 23, 1988, in Bangor, a son of Robert and Doreen (Moody) Kearns.
He graduated from Bangor High School in 2007 and was graduating from the University of Maine at Orono in December 2013. Adam loved sports. He played football, enjoyed music, fishing and hiking with his family. He was an Eagle Scout and attended and worked at Fairhaven Camp for many years. Adam was currently employed at Acadia Hospital in Bangor.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Kay Kearns; two sons, Cameron and Caleb Kearns; a brother, Alex Kearns; two sisters, Tonya and husband, Kevin Bean, and their children, Madison and Morgan Bean and Rene Kearns and her fiancé, Steve Pal; grandparents, Robert and Florence Kearns, Byron and Sandra Moody, and Jean Moody; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lemont and Sandra Gerry Jr.; brothers-in-law, Christopher Gerry, Samuel Gerry, and Curt Hopkins; and sister-in-law, Miranda Hopkins and her children, Regan and Riley Lary. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at First Baptist Church, 245 Main St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. William Johnson officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. Burial will be at Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
