HOULTON – Ruth Ann Hanington, 70, passed away peacefully at the Gardner Nursing Home with her husband and daughter at her side on November 2, 2013.

She was born in Caribou, on November 3, 1942 to Charles and Florence (LaPointe) Paul.

She had 4 children with Donald Theriault who she married on Jan.17, 1958. They separated and divorced in 1975. She married Harvey Hanington on July 4, 1981 and realized a lifetime dream when they purchased a farm in Wales, Me. She loved all animals but none more than the horses they bred, trained and raced together in Wales and later in Danforth.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Cora Theriault, and 2 sisters, Cora Gibson and Myrna MacDonald. Surviving, in addition to her husband Harvey, are her sister, Debbie Anderson, of Sanford, her daughters, Nancy Godin, of Caribou, Pamela Theriault, of Watertown, Mass., her 2 sons, Donald and Kevin Theriault, both of Lewiston, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend her memorial service on Friday, Nov 8 at 11 a.m. at the Baptist Church, 22 Maple St., Danforth. Interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
