HOULTON – Gerald “Jay” Hardy, 51, died unexpectedly Nov. 7, 2013, at a local hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1962, in Houlton, the son of Vinal G. and Audrey (Paul) Hardy.
Jay is a member of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians and was employed by the Maliseet Housing Authority. He loved hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed concrete work becoming a master at it.
Jay is survived by his mother, Audrey of Fredricton, NB; his children, Rick Belile of Bangor, Joseph Hardy and Shawn Coty, both of Houlton; his fiancée, Marie Hanson; four brothers, Patrick, Calvin, Timothy, and Earl; four sisters, Brenda Commander, Lorraine Hardy, Deana MacPherson, and Lisa Hardy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father; and his brother, Jeffrey.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, at Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church, with the Rev. David Raymond celebrant.
