WASHBURN – After a courageous battle, Lois M. Woollard, 62, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, Nov. 13, 2013, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born Jan. 7, 1951, in Caribou, the daughter of Hartley F. and Ruth (Blackstone) James.
She was a graduate of the Washburn High School, class of 1969, and went on to further her education at Bob Jones Christian University, Greenville, S.C., where she pursued a degree in business. She had been employed for several years at Marston’s in Presque Isle and was a devoted member of the Perham Baptist Church where she participated as song leader and was active in Junior Church for close to 30 years. She greatly enjoyed reading and her family, especially her grandchildren. Everyone will remember Lois’ wonderful smile.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woollard was predeceased by one brother, Daniel James. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Terry W. Woollard of Washburn; two sons, Benji Woollard of Washburn, and Jeremy Woollard and his wife, Mary, of Mapleton; three brothers, Errol James and his wife, Nancy, of West Harwich, Mass., Owen James and Cary James both of Washburn; three sisters, Diane Wilcox and her husband, Larry, of Limington, Kathi Varney and her husband, Al, of Turner, and Darlene James of Brewer; one grandson, Connor Woollard; one granddaughter, Kyrie Woollard, both of Mapleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by special friends, Rod and Barb Leach of Washburn.
Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Perham Baptist Church, 681 Perham Road, Perham, where a celebration of Lois’ life will be conducted at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Goupille officiating. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Perham, at a later date. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the church following the service. Those who wish, may contribute in memory of Mrs. Woollard to the Perham Baptist Church, 681 Perham Road, Perham.
