EASTPORT – James “Juddie” Cook, 90, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013. He was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Eastport, to Andrew and Margaret Cook.
He attended Eastport schools and married Patricia Merrill in 1952.
He was predeceased by brothers, Randal, Jesse, William, Louis, and infant, “Toddie”; sisters, Tess Williamson, Faye Oller, Virginia Barret, Lucy Clement, and infant Maddonna, Mary. He is survived by his sister, Irma Mullen.
He worked as a commercial fisherman with his brothers as a seiner aboard many boats, the last named fittingly, “The Five Brothers.” When the sardine factories closed he and his wife moved to Connecticut where he worked for ten years. Then he returned home to the place he was born and worked as a school custodian, until he retired.
He’s also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families; and a special nephew, Jon, a Sunday morning visit he always looked forward to.
Services will be private and held jointly with his wife, Patricia’s, at their request and when the time comes.
