POLKTON, N.C. – Mr. Charles Albert Gomm Sr., 80, of Polkton, N.C., and formerly of South Blue Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1933, in Blue Hill, a son of the late William E. and Gladys B. Ladd Gomm. He was a retired truck driver.
Surviving are his wife, Winnifred Gray Gomm; his children, Carl Gomm of Blue Hill, Dolly Gomm of Bucksport, Judith Larry of Clifton, Charles Gomm Jr. of Polkton, N.C., Amy Murphy and Earl Gomm, both of Chester, S.C., Karen Blenkhorn and Lance Gomm both of Bangor; his brothers, Richard Gomm of Polkton, N.C., and Johnny Gomm of August; 22 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated with no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
