GREENVILLE – Alice J. (Daley) Kinney, 74, of Greenville, left us on Nov. 20, 2013, with her family by her side at a Bangor hospital. Alice was born on May 8, 1939, in Carthage, to Alward and Ruth (Webster) Daley.
She attended Dirigo High School, worked for Fairchild Semiconductor for 17 years and later attended school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She had been currently employed with Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital for 24 years. She was an exceptional caregiver to her patients and held her coworkers in high regard. Her interests included family, gardening (on a grand scale), hunting and fishing. She enjoyed creating gardens for anyone needing fresh vegetables. Alice was an extraordinary woman who was extremely independent and fostered this belief in her children.
Alice is survived by her beloved companion of 28 years, Bill Reed of Dexter; sister, Emily Houghton; brothers, Edward, Girard, and Elwin Daley; four children and their spouses, Sandra and Ray Bouchard, Deborah and Francisco Tavares, Donna and David MacWilliams and Steven Clark and companion, Kathy; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; along with a large extended family who loved her dearly. She is loved by all and will be greatly missed. A special thanks to Bruce Reed, Tracy and family for all their love, kindness and support during our time of need.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield, with the Rev. John Gensel officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Dixfield. Words of condolence and tribute may be shared with Alice’s family on her tribute wall at www.wilesrc.com.
