BANGOR – Marion Louise McGinley, died Nov. 25, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. Marion was born May 20, 1924, in Norridgewock. Marion was raised by her father, John L. Miner and her grandmother, Evelyn Bell Miner.
Marion graduated from Searsport High School, class of 1942. Having children and being home with them was a great joy for Marion. Going back to school at age 60 fulfilled a lifelong dream of working in the nursing profession. She worked in the home Health Care field for 17 years. After retirement, Marion had the pleasure of traveling to visit her children.
Marion is survived by her five children, Rosemary L. Plourd, Claude E. McGinley and wife, Audrey, Rebecca L. Nelson, Bobbie M. Brewer and husband, Don, and Dr. Kim M. Vincent and husband, Peter; nine grandchildren, Robin Wade, Cindie Wade and her partner, Kathy Riley, Julie McGinley, Kelly Nadeau and husband, Randy, Jenny Nelson, John Nelson and wife, Angela, Mckenzie and Jack Smith, and Nathan Vincent; as well as five great-grandchildren, Natalie and Lindsay Roberts, Brian Mahan, Madison Doucette, and Allyson Nadeau. Marion was predeceased by her ex-husband, Vinal B. McGinley; and a very special son-in-law, Eugene R. Plourd.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes, interment will be private at Oak Cemetery, Norridgewock.
