FORT KENT – Mary (Small) (Thibodeau) Ouellette, 81, died peacefully surrounded by her family Nov. 25, 2013, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Feb. 12, 1932, only daughter of the late Harold and Marion (Pooler) Small Sr. She was born, raised and educated in Waterville.
Mary will be remembered for her knowledge in knowing the correct answers to the question in the Saturday mornings addition to the Bangor Daily News “What is It?” She enjoyed knitting mittens and hats for children. Her favorite past time was her flowers, she took great pride in caring for them. She was always keeping herself busy, very active, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Leodore Ouellette of Fort Kent; one stepdaughter, Belinda Michaud of Eagle Lake; and two stepsons, Barry and wife, Paula, and Lee and wife, Ann, all of Fort Kent. She also leaves behind special grandchildren, Chuck Michaud and wife, Kristan, of Presque Isle, Denise Corriveau and husband, Randy, of Wallagrass, twins, Jesse Michaud and wife, Michelle, of Auburn and Justin Michaud and wife, Jesi, of New Gloucester, Erika and Kadie Ouellette (her computer buddies) of Fort Kent, and Danielle, David, and Emily Ouellette, also of Fort Kent. Her very special great-grandchildren, Madison and Conner Michaud of Presque Isle, Mackenzie and Chase Corriveau of Wallagrass, Allie and Sarah Michaud of Auburn, and Beck and Terry Michaud of New Gloucester. She is also survived by her nephews, Maurice, Harrison, and Keith Pooler; nieces, Nancy Pooler and Mary Sargent; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and special sisters and brothers-in-law. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Leon “Kit” Thibodeau in 1969; three brothers, Harold Jr., Lawrence Small, and Harry Pooler; and one stepson-in-law, Terry Michaud.
Funeral services are going to be announced at a later date and will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Arrangements by Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
