CARIBOU – Adrienne S. Chapman, 77, died Nov. 29, 2013, at her Caribou residence following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Bouchard) Clevette.
She was a 1953 graduate of Caribou High School and attended Ricker College. She married Robert Chapman on May 20, 1955. Mrs. Chapman was employed by the LS Hall Company and then was employed by the Maine Department of Human Services until her retirement in 1996. She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic church, where she served as the Treasurer for the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed volunteering at the food pantry as well as dedicating many hours assisting with lunches following funeral Masses. Adrienne was a loving a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed bowling, bridge as well as following numerous sports teams.
Surviving in addition to her husband of over 58 years, Robert of Caribou are her children, Becky and Dana Pike of Caribou, Jeffrey and Roxanne Chapman of Westbrook, Jolene Small of Windham, Catherine Chapman and David Guerrette of Washburn, Michael and Bronwyn Chapman of Tyngsborough, Mass., and Shelley and Andy Hendrickson of Holdridge, Neb; a sister, Viola Soucie of Caribou; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Katelyn, Ashley, Patrick, Benjamin, Caleb, Aideen and Teagan; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chapman was predeceased by two sisters, Constance Staples and Evelyn Boyce.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Emile Dube, officiating. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the Parish Hall. Interment will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
