MADAWASKA – Marie L. Raymond, 70, passed away on Dec. 3, 2013, at her residence in Madawaska, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 14, 1943, in St. David, daughter of the late Ernest and Elsie (Cyr) Lagasse.
Marie was an excellent cook. She enjoyed flower gardening and bowling. She was well known in the area as a landlord. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 19 years, Gallant Raymond of Madawaska; three sons, Steven J. Ringuette, DC and his wife, Brenda, of Biddeford, Daniel J. Ringuette, DC and his wife, Denise, of Madawaska and Paul Ringuette and his wife, Natalie, of Frenchville; her stepdaughter, Karen A. Ryer and her husband, James III, of Cape Elizabeth; six grandchildren, Andrew, Luke, Raya, and Madison Ringuette, and Laura and Ashley Ryer; four brothers, Norman Lagasse of St. David, Richard Lagasse, Camille Lagasse and his wife, Jeannine, Philip Lagasse and his wife, Alice, all of Madawaska; four sisters, Jeannine Bragdon and her husband, Gary, of Caribou, Bernadette Gendreau and her husband, Richard, of Madawaska, Marie Jeanne Ouellette of Madawaska, and Joan Caron of St. Joseph, New Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Lagasse and Joel Lagasse.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-9 p.m. Friday, and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday, before the service, at Lajoie Funeral Home. Contributions in Marie’s memory may be made to the Edgar J.
