HOULTON – Lawrence “Larry” Eddie Littlefield, 57, passed away peacefully at his home Dec. 4, 2013. Larry was born Sept. 20, 1956, in Portland. He was the third of seven children born to Bertram and Betty Jane Littlefield. Larry left his family of origin at age six, when he moved to Pineland Center.
In November 1993, Larry came to Houlton and to his true home, Harmony. For 20 years, Larry received loving care from staff members who were devoted to him. Larry was never a patient or a client; at Harmony, he was family. Larry will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. For many years, Larry’s special friends, David, Heidi and Jeremy Fitzpatrick brightened his life with their visits, gifts and concern. Larry enjoyed the simple things in life; seeing a familiar face, spending time with his friends, watching cartoons, comedies and westerns on TV, milkshakes and french fries. Larry had a great sense of humor, often laughing at the antics of his friend Jodi. His laugh came from deep in his belly, and it was contagious to all around him. His 1,000 watt smile could light up a room. Larry took each day at face value with no concern for tomorrow. Larry accepted and enjoyed the life he was given.
Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Bowers Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., with Father David Raymond officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to Harmony House, 11 Abraham Court, Houlton ME 04730. A spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery and will be announced at a later date.
