ABBOT – Robert W. “Bob” Tileston, 84, died Dec. 5, 2013, at the home of his son in Parkman. He was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Greenville, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Moore) Tileston.
He served in the U.S. Army and was severely wounded in the Korean War. Bob worked for Guilford Industries for many years, and also worked in woods. He loved to hunt, trap and fish. He was very involved in the March of Dimes and was proud to collect the most contributions in the area for 12 years in a row.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Tileston, the love of his life, in 2000. He is survived by a son and his wife, James and Elizabeth Morin of Parkman; a daughter and her husband, Patricia and Russell Todd of Guilford; six grandchildren, Petie Morin, Linda Todd, Robert Todd, Don Tibbets, James Morin Jr., and Joshua Morin; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Leon and Joline Tileston of Dexter; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Lucky; and special friends, Tarsha Duby, and Ray and Joanne Guerin.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Pingree Center Cemetery, Parkman. Friends are invited to gather 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the home of Jim and Elizabeth Morin, 9 Wellington Road, Parkman, for a time of remembrance. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.
