DANVILLE, N.H., and PRESQUE ISLE – Stanley “Stan” N. McPherson, 52, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Danville, N.H., on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. He was born Feb. 28, 1961, in Presque Isle, the son of Cluny B. and Effie (Watson) McPherson.
He was a graduate of Presque Isle High School, class of 1979, was a member of the 1979 Eastern Maine boys’ basketball team, received the Franklin S. Cunningham Sportsmanship award, and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Stan worked for Curtis-Strauss in Littleton, Mass., as a Project Manager/Designer, and then for the past ten years he has been self-employed in New Hampshire. He loved to fish and kayak, was known for his talents in woodworking, loved volunteering in his local community, and was an avid Maine Hockey fan.
He is survived by his parents of Presque Isle; two brothers, James McPherson and his wife, Cathy, of Windham, and Robert McPherson of Seabrook, N.H.; two sisters, Kathy Maynard and her husband, Edward, of Presque Isle, and Dolly Jo McPherson of Exeter, N.H.; a niece, Kate; a nephew, Scott of Windham; uncles, Norman Watson and his wife, Carolyn, George Watson and wife, Sue, all of Presque Isle, and Stan Watson and his wife, Sharon, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; aunt, Joyce Watson of Flint, Mich.; and several cousins. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Scott.
Friends may call noon until time of service Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ernie Farrar officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
