LEVANT – Lloyd Gordon Richardson, 86, passed away peacefully at a Bangor health care facility, Dec. 12, 2013. Lloyd was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Levant, the son of Miles and Elizabeth (Gordon) Richardson.
In 1948, Lloyd met the love of his life, Marie L. Knowles, and settled in Levant. They celebrated 64 years of marriage in June and were honored to serve as Grand Marshalls in Levant’s Bicentennial Celebration in September, 2013. Lloyd was a self-employed dairy farmer and the proud owner of Rivermoor Farms. Lloyd served as town selectman for seven years and was a member of the board of directors of Agway. He was a 50-year member of Kenduskeag Masonic Lodge No. 137 A.F. & A.M. and a previous member of the Levant Fire Department and former Levant Minerva Grange. After retirement, Lloyd and Marie travelled in their fifth-wheeler and became members of the Paul Bunyan Campers Group. They also took numerous flights to Las Vegas. Lloyd’s favorite pastimes were poker and cribbage shared with his family and friends. Lloyd was a self-made man who was very patient, compassionate, honest, kind and an inspiration to all. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest love was for his family.
In addition to his wife, Marie, Lloyd is survived by his children, Cindi Goodwin and husband, Terry, of Levant, Debbie Urquhart and husband, Butch, of Brewer, and Brian Richardson of Levant; grandchildren, Jason and wife, Melissa, Wendy and husband, Marc, and Dana and wife, Donna; great-grandchildren, Evan, Myles, J.D. and Alex.
The family invites relatives and friends to share in a celebration of Lloyd’s life 1-3 p.m. Dec. 28, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
