SOUTHWEST HARBOR – June Hamblen Sanner, 89, died Dec. 11, 2013, at an MDI health care facility. She was born April 18, 1924, in Southwest Harbor, the daughter of Walter Hilton and Bernice (Murphy) Hamblen.
She and her late husband owned and operated the former Walt’s Food Store in Southwest Harbor. She previously worked at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust as a teller before store ownership. June was a lifetime member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son, Walter “Bud” Sanner and his wife, Debra, of Southwest Harbor; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey Sanner, Jillian Sanner and Jarrett Sanner all of Southwest Harbor. June was predeceased by her husband, Walter W. Sanner; her son, David A. Sanner; and five brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating.
