MONSON – Donald J. Kane Sr., 88, died Dec. 14, 2013, at his home in Monson. He was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Bangor, the son of Leslie and Ada (Michaud) Kane.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He worked as a machinist for Gillette Safety Razor, retiring to Monson in 1982.
He is survived by two sons, David Kane and his wife, Theresa, of Mansfield, Mass., and William Kane of Bethel; two daughters, Lori Lewis of Monson, and Shirleen St. Germain of Ky.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy DeSalivatore of Brewer; nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Charlotte Hamilton of Madison. He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche (Belfleur) Kane; a son, Donald Jr. “Lucky”; and a granddaughter, Bree Rice.
