JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Juanitta Irene (Crandall) Hallett went to heaven to be with her parents, Calvin and Erma, on Dec. 9, 2013, near her home in Jacksonville, Florida after a brief illness.

Juanitta was born on June 6, 1931, in Oakfield. She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by sister, Alice Cullinan; two brothers, Merwin and Shirley, and Alston Crandall, all of Oakfield; and youngest sister, Sandy Crandall of Maine. She is also survived by her three children, Michael and Sonia, Lisa and Scott, and Jeffrey and Lance; four grandchildren, Angela, Rebel, Galina and “RJ” Michael; as well as four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Juanitta was valedictorian of her high school class, Miss Oakfield 1948, sold Sarah Coventry jewelry for many years and was a Civilian Personnel Classification officer for the U.S. Air Force for 32 years. She received many awards during her career, of which she was proud, but always felt her greatest gift was her family.

She believed in charity, and providing help were it was needed and donated to The Carter Center (www.cartercenter.org) and to The City Rescue Mission in Jacksonville, Fla., (www.crmjax.org).

A Celebration of Life will be held in June of 2014 in her hometown of Oakfield. Details will be provided closer to that time.
