WINSLOW AND PALMYRA – Dorothy Nora Bradford, 92, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Sanfield Rehab & Living Center in Hartland. She was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Palmyra, the daughter of Frank and Sadie (Homstead) Bradford.
She attended Palmyra schools and graduated from Newport High School with the class of 1940. After high school she moved to Boston, Mass., where she worked for over 53 years as a bookkeeper for the Boston Cab Company. As well as her work, she enjoyed travelling and doing crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally Withee and her husband, Jerry, of Palmyra; her grandson, Jeffrey Withee of Fairfield; and several cousins. The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sanfield for the loving care given to Dorothy.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, 1 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating. A gathering will be held in the funeral home and a committal service will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Cemetery Road, in Newport.
