SACO, Maine — Police are advising the public to avoid the Industrial Park Road as a train derailment has blocked the roadway.
The Boston and Maine train skidded off the tracks near the interchange with Industrial Park Road and Interstate 195, Saco Deputy Chief Jeff Holland said.
Traffic is being rerouted to the Main Street exit ramps, Holland said.
Officials from Boston and Maine Railroad, a subsidiary of Pan Am Railways, are en route to the scene. Holland said it’s unclear how long it will take to set the train back onto the tracks.
No other information was immediately available.
