CHERRYFIELD – David Houghton passed away at the age of 72 on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, in Cherryfield. David was born June 10, 1941, in Lynn, Mass., to Austin S. Houghton and Barbara Martin.
He was honorably discharged from USN. He was a lifetime fisherman and mechanic. His love for the water ran through his veins as deep as his love for his grandchildren until the day he passed away.
Survived by his two daughters, Julia Houghton of New York, and Danielle Madruga of Beverly, Mass.; his grandchildren, Michael and Jillian Madruga; his son, Austin Houghton with grandchildren, Skyy Tenney; and David’s “special friend,” Angelia Tenney in Cherryfield. Also, survived by brothers, Jerry Houghton of Salem, Mass., and Charles Houghton of Bath. David was predeceased by his father, Austin S. Houghton; his mother, Barbara Martin-Houghton; and sister, Clair Gerard. David will be sorely missed and always loved by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Machias.
