ARUNDEL, Maine — A Biddeford man who was a passenger in a minor traffic accident Monday was arrested when a York County sheriff’s deputy learned he had three outstanding warrants.

Among the warrants Jesse Fernandez, 25, had was a burglary warrant out of Oklahoma, according to Chief Deputy William King.

Deputy Duane Fay had responded to the crash around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Route 1 and Old Post Road. King said the deputy determined the crash was not reportable.

However, he learned that Hernandez had the burglary warrant along with warrants for failing to make restitution and paying fines on a previous theft charge, the chief deputy said.

Hernandez was arrested and brought to York County Jail, and King said Oklahoma authorities have no plans to extradite Hernandez.
