SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The 22nd annual Great Harbor Shoot-Out basketball tournament will be held Friday-Sunday, March 14-16, at Harbor House Community Service Center. The tournament has more than 80 teams and four divisions that include girls and boys, junior high, and high school basketball teams from all over Maine. Event registration closes Feb. 25. Participants get T-shirts, and winning teams in various divisions get trophies. Proceeds benefit Harbor House. BAILEYVILLE — Down East Credit Union Grade Eight and Down Basketball Tournaments, March 15-16 for boys and March 22-23 for girls, at Woodland High School gymnasium, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturdays and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays. BREWER — Brewer Parks & Recreation Department will offer Tee Time Tune-up golf lessons, noon-1 p.m. beginning Thursday, March 13, at Brewer Auditorium Gymnasium. Lessons are designed for players of all levels, from fundamentals to fine-tuning. Instructor will be Mark Hall, PGA professional. Cost is $35 for residents and $45 for non-residents. ICE SKATING

WATERVILLE — The Alfond Youth Center ice rink, at 126 North St., is open to the public. Support from the Languet family and Waterville Fire Department has made it possible. The rink is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. with evening lights surrounding the rink, seven days a week, no fees.

ROAD RACING

ORONO — The University Credit Union’s seventh annual Healthy High 5K/10K and 1-Mile Fun Run begin at 4:20 p.m. April 13, at the University of Maine’s New Balance Student Recreation Center. Early registration deadline is 4 p.m. April 9 and fees for the 5K/10K are $15, $5 for students. The 1-mile walk/run is free. Race-day registration fees are $20 ($10 for students). Registration is available online at umaine.edu/aod/healthy-high-5k-10k. Race proceeds benefit the Black Bear Exchange Food Pantry and Thrift Store. BANGOR — Bangor Parks and Recreation will offer an Outdoor Experience Program at 9:15 a.m. March 14, at Sugarloaf Mountain, for an educational ski or snowboard program. The program is for youths ages 7-18 and costs $41, which includes a mid-mountain lift ticket, equipment rentals and a 90-minute clinic. You can add a full mountain lift ticket for an extra $10. TRIATHLON

FREEPORT — The 2014 Lobsterman Triathlon and Aquabike will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Winslow Park. If you sign up for the Lobsterman and the Boston Triathlon, receive a 10 percent discount on both entries.

ORRINGTON — Bangor YMCA is hosting its annual Tri for the Y Sprint Triathlon at 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, at Brewer Lake Boat Launch in Orrington. Proceeds will provide camp, membership and program scholarships for children and teens. Early registration with a special discount until April 20. Triathletes will swim 750 meters in Brewer Lake, do a 12.4-mile bicycle ride through Orrington; and 3.1-mile out-and-back run. The Y will offer preparation training courses.
