VEAZIE – Marjorie Jewett, 71, wife of the late David M. Jewett, passed away unexpectedly at home, March 31, 2014. She was born Aug. 31,1942, in Bangor, daughter of the late Kenneth and Nadine (Alwood) Brown.
Marjorie grew up in Old Town with her three sisters and brother. She graduated from Old Town High School in 1962. She worked at various jobs throughout her life most recently retiring from the University of Maine. Her life however, was more defined as a wife to her husband of 45 years and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family, and of course playing bingo and going to casinos!
Marjorie is survived by her three children, Pete Jewett and his wife, Robin of Dublin, Va.; Deborah Jewett-Chretien and her husband, Jeremy of Holden, and Dana Homsted and her husband, Scott of Calais; and six grandchildren, Andrew Homsted, Ashley Homsted and her fiancé, Tyler Farley of Calais, Matthew Chretien of Holden, Dwayne Moody of Mooresville, N.C., Corey Moody and his wife, Andrea of Holly Springs, N.C. and Chris Moody and his wife, Jodie of Dublin, Va.; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Ruth O’Neal, Persis Brown and Nancy King, all of Old Town and special sister-in-law, Yvette Brown of Milford. Marjorie is predeceased by her parents, her brother, David Brown, brothers-in-law, Jim O’Neal and Donald King.
