The University of Southern Maine is hosting a series of events surrounding the theater department’s production of “In the Underworld,” an operetta written by French Resistance fighter Germaine Tillion while imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp.
Regular performances of the operetta will be 7:30 p.m. April 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, and 5 p.m. April 20, 23 and 27. For tickets, visit usm.maine.edu/theatre or call 780-5151.

— Saturday, April 19, French composer Christophe Maudot will take part in a post-show discussion with director Meghan Brodie, the operetta cast and script translators Annie and Karl Bortnick.
— Tuesday, April 22, after a 10 a.m. special high school matinee, a post-show discussion with Brodie and the cast.
— Thursday, April 24, Christine Holden, USM associate professor emeritus of history, will participate in a post-show discussion along with Insa Eschebach, director of the Ravensbruck Memorial of Germany.
