DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A man was brought to a Bangor hospital Tuesday morning after being shot in an incident on Lancaster Avenue, police said.
Officers arrived on scene shortly after 6 a.m. and learned that gunshots had been fired, Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Dennis Dyer said.
The victim was brought to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment. His injuries aren’t considered to be life-threatening.
The man’s name was not disclosed.
The chief said police have an idea who the shooter may have been but are still investigating the matter.
A motive for the incident was also unclear Tuesday, Dyer said. The weapon involved was a .22-caliber rifle.
State police, Piscataquis County sheriff’s deputies and Milo police assisted Dover-Foxcroft police.
