OAKLAND, Maine — An Oakland man was arrested Friday morning in connection with an assault that left two young twin girls injured, police said.
David Devine, 25, is being held at the Kennebec County Jail on two charges of aggravated assault, a Class B felony, according to Oakland police Capt. Rick Stubbert.
Bail has not been set for Devine, and his first court appearance is scheduled for July 29.
Devine’s arrest was the result of a two-week investigation of an incident that occurred on May 11, according to Stubbert, who did not disclose details of the assault, citing an open investigation.
The victims, are both 2 years old, the police captain said.
The victims were transported via LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, said Stubbert, who did not go into detail regarding their injuries.
“A lot of it’s still under investigation,” he said.
If convicted, Devine faces up to 10 years behind bars on each charge.
