PORTLAND, Maine — A local man is facing a child pornography charge after his arrest on Wednesday, state police said.

Marcus Chapman, 42, was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of child pornography, according to spokesman Stephen McCausland.

An analysis of Chapman’s computer revealed thousands of images of child pornography, McCausland said.

None of Chapman’s victims are from Maine, the state police spokesman said.

Chapman is not employed but his home is near the Presumpscot Elementary School in Portland. He is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
