STANDISH, Maine — A soldier visiting Maine is asking for help to find his dog before he heads back to Fort Hood.
Spc. Ernest Simard’s dog Bailey has been missing since Monday.
Since then, he and his family have been busy posting signs around Standish to help find him.
The dog is a German short-haired pointer.
His owners say they can’t imagine leaving without her, but have pushed their stay in Standish as long as they can.
They say they have to leave to head back to Fort Hood Friday.
