OWLS HEAD, Maine — The motorcyclist involved in an accident with a sports utility vehicle on Saturday afternoon suffered injuries that were not life threatening, police said Monday.

Arthur Hutchinson was making a left turn from Ingraham Drive in his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when, shortly before 3:30 p.m., a 2000 Honda motorcycle driven by Gabriel Millard, who was also traveling south, attempted to pass on the left, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcycle struck the left front fender of the other vehicle and skidded off the road into a field.

Millard received cuts and scratches and was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center for further evaluation, according to the sheriff’s office.
