BANGOR, Maine — Old Town and Sebasticook recorded elimination-round victories in the District 3 Junior League baseball tourney Tuesday night at Mansfield Stadium as Old Town ousted Holbrook 3-2 and Sebasticook eliminated Houlton 3-1.

In the nightcap, Connor Robertson pitched 6 ⅔ innings to earn the win as he allowed one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven for Old Town (2-1).

Jake Dubay earned the save, retiring the only batter he faced on a diving catch by right fielder Alex Brown to end the game with the potential tying run at third in the bottom of the seventh and the potential winning run at first.

Old Town took a 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run double by Hunter Brasslett, scoring Connor Robertson, who hit a one-out double and Alex Brown, who reached on an outfield error. Old Town extended its lead in the fifth on Nick Avery’s leadoff single, who went to second on a throwing error, to third on a wild pitch and scored on Alex Blackie’s comebacker to the mound.

Tyler Bean singled twice for Holbrook (0-2).

In the first game, Josh Perry pitched 4 2/3 innings of shutout relief, allowing three hits and not walking a batter while striking out four to lift Sebasticook by Houlton.

Sebasticook (1-1) rallied in the fourth to tie the game on Cody Rice’s RBI single, driving in Josh Perry, who led off the inning with a double. Sebasticook took the lead in the fifth, aided by four Houlton errors.

Nick Perfitt and Ryder Graham each singled twice to lead Houlton (0-2).

At Blue Hill, Austin Snow struck out eight in 5 ⅓ innings and Caden Mattson came on to strike out the final two batters to help Coastal earn the District 1 all-star tourney win for ages 11-12.

Tobey Snow sparked Coastal with a double and two RBIs while Mattson and Marcus Candage chipped in with two singles each.

Dan Couse slammed a solo homer for Bucksport.

Calais 3, Ellsworth 2

At Ellsworth, Calais rallied for three runs in the sixth to beat in Little League all-star baseball action in the District 1 tourney for ages 11-12 Tuesday.

John Socobasin (nine) and Alex Newsome (five) combined for 14 strikeouts to spark Calais. Socobasin gave up two runs, two walks and three hits in four innings while Newsome gave up two hits but didn’t allow a walk or a run in two innings.

Socobasin also chipped in with a triple, single and RBI while Blake Collins added an RBI double.

Jackson Curtis and Tanner Ashley also turned in a strong pitching effort for Ellsworth, as he didn’t allow a hit or a run in four innings while striking out 10 and walking two.

Curtis also doubled twice and drove in a run while Sam Keblinsky added an RBI single.

Old Town 10, Bangor East 5

At Taylor Field in Bangor, Old Town used home runs from Ethan Hayes and Michael Brown to beat Bangor East in District 3 all-star action for ages 11-12.

Old Town improves to 2-1 while Bangor East (0-2) was eliminated.

Hayes hit a three-run homer in the first inning. Brown’s solo shot came in the second inning.

Chris Albert and Brown combined for the win for Old Town.

For Bangor East, Ben Brook had two singles and Zach Grant had a two-run single.

Houlton, Old Town post wins

At Kedderis Field in Millinocket, Houlton and Old Town survived elimination games on Tuesday to advance in the District 3 9-10-year old all-star tournament. Houlton beat Bangor East 13-9 and Old Town defeated Millinocket 17-1.

In Tuesday’s first game, Houlton scored seven times in the bottom of the second to erase a 7-4 deficit and build a lead it would never relinquish en route to the victory.

Nolan Hodgkins registered two singles and a double to lead the winners offensively while Collin Moody added a single and a triple. Luke Missbrenner singled and doubled to pace Bangor East with Keegan Cyr collecting a pair of singles.

In Tuesday’s second game, Seth Haverlock scattered three hits during a four-inning complete game to spark Old Town to its second victory of the tournament.

Haverlock struck out eight and walked none while aiding his own cause at the plate with a double and triple. Maddox Sapiel added a single and triple while Micah Betters singled and triple.

Tyrone Davis notched a pair of singles to lead host Millinocket.

At Machias, winning pitcher Kyle Nicholson cranked a home run, two doubles and a single, finishing with two RBIs, to help Acadian earn the win in a District 1 tourney all-star game for ages 9-10.

Nick Corson chipped in with a home run, double and single for the winners while Sam Mitchell added a triple and double.

Cecil Gray sparked Machias with a home run and Greg Moulton chipped in with two singles. Kyle Anderson, Jeffrey Graham and Gabe Taylor each added a single, with Taylor driving in a run.

At Fairfield, Bangor executed a suicide squeeze in the top of sixth when Zach Ireland put down a bunt and Gary Farnham scored to give the Cadets the lead.

Farnham doubled, singled and drove in a run to spark Bangor (8-3) while Zach Ireland drove in two runs. Derek Fournier chipped in with two singles and Joey Moir added a single and RBI. Jesse Colford recorded the win and Brian Peirce earned a save.

Curtis Martin hit a solo home run, double and single to pace Fairfield (6-3). Kyle Dugas and Derek Bowen each chipped in with two singles, with Dugas driving in two runs.

Ellsworth 7, Machias 5

At Machias on Monday, MacKenzie Chapman didn’t allow a hit to help lead Ellsworth by Machias in the District 1 Little League softball championship game for ages 11-12.

Chapman struck out 12.

Trinity Montigny sparked Ellsworth with a single and two RBIs and Maria Wagenknecht added an RBI single.

Machias pitcher Haley Libbey allowed only two hits and struck out three.
