BANGOR, Maine — A local transient is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a Finson Road residence on Thursday morning, police said.
When police arrived shortly after 3:15 a.m., they found Arthur Beaver, 31, dangling out a first-floor kitchen window with the resident holding the suspect’s leg, Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said.
Police were dispatched to the residence when it was learned Beaver had broken in through a kitchen window, according to Cotton.
Beaver apparently had tried to escape out the same window, but the victim managed to grab his leg and hold him until police arrived, the sergeant said.
Beaver, who Cotton said smelled strongly of alcohol, was uncooperative with police upon them taking him into custody, the sergeant said, swearing at them, making rude gestures and choosing not to answer questions.
Beaver was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct and brought to Penobscot County Jail.
