AUGUSTA, Maine — Ohio authorities and that state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation are attempting to identify a woman who may have ties to Maine.

The woman, who is at the Allen County Jail in Ohio under the name “Jane Doe,” is refusing to disclose any information regarding her identity, according to Detective Gary Hook of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman allegedly attempted to obtain an Ohio driver’s license using a birth certificate from Maine, which was determined to be fraudulent, according to Hook.

Chief Deputy Ryan Reardon of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that the woman may have ties to Kennebec County.

Among the precautions the woman has taken to conceal her identity, she has burned her fingers and palms to the point of not being fit for use, according to Hook.

The woman has surgical scars around her nipples and a small scar on her belly button. Her last known address prior to Ohio was Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Anyone with information on the woman’s identity should call Hook at 419-227-3535.
