MANCHESTER, Maine — A Rite Aid on Western Avenue was robbed on Saturday for the second time in a month, according to police.
Chief Deputy Ryan Reardon of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said police are seeking a solo female suspect.
Police were called to the store shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday, according to Reardon.
The suspect, who Reardon said was wearing men’s clothing, made threats that she had a weapon and demanded opiates. No weapon was displayed during the robbery.
She then fled on foot with prescription pills.
Reardon said police tried to track down the suspect with a dog and found some clothing they believe belonged to the woman.
Anyone with information on Saturday’s robbery should call Sgt. John Bourque at the Sheriff’s Office, at 623-3614.
