WINTERVILLE PLANTATION, Maine — Four people were injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash just before 6:30 p.m. on Aroostook Road, according to the Maine State Police.
Rodney Madore, 76, of Eagle Lake was traveling on South Quimby Road in his 2008 Hyundai SUV when he failed to yield at its intersection with Aroostook Road, according to Sgt. Josh Haines.
The SUV was struck by a 2005 GMC truck heading northbound on Aroostook Road and driven by Kole Walker, 16, of Fort Kent, Haines said in a press release issued Thursday morning.
Madore and his passenger, Joan Dow, 78, and Kole and his passenger, Zachary Dionne, 17, all were injured and transported by ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent.
Dow later was transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she was listed in fair condition Thursday, according to an EMMC spokesperson.
Haines said all four had been wearing seat belts and the air bags deployed in Walker’s truck. The sergeant said both vehicles were damaged extensively and had to be towed from the scene.
The crash is being investigated by Trooper Dan Marquis.
