CARIBOU, Maine — Summer is not officially over, but chilly temperatures are expected in Aroostook County on Friday night and into Saturday.
Temperatures are expected to dip as low as 30 degrees in northern Maine late Friday, and the National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch.
According to the weather service, northwest, northeast and southeast portions of Aroostook County, as far north as Madawaska and all the way down to Sherman, are under the watch.
The freeze watch is in effect Friday night through Saturday morning.
Crops and other sensitive vegetation are at risk.
