BANGOR, Maine — A local man is facing charges after he was arrested Friday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, according to police.

A woman went to the Bangor police station alleging Tyler Williams, 19, assaulted her after she confronted him about text messages on his phone, according to Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton.

Williams also allegedly threatened to kill the woman if she reported it to police, according to Cotton.

In addition to the assault, the woman told police Williams had a secret marijuana growing operation in the apartment they shared, according to Cotton, along with heroin, pills and drug paraphernalia.

Williams was charged with domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, cultivation of marijuana, illegal possession of heroin and three charges of possession of Schedule W drugs — Suboxone, Adderall and Vyvanse — the sergeant said.

Williams is being held at the Penobscot County Jail. Bail was set at $2,500 cash or $10,000 surety.
