PORTLAND, Maine — A drug-related search warrant was executed by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and multiple other agencies on Cumberland Avenue late Wednesday, police said.

The MDEA, along with Portland and Westbrook police, executed the warrant at an apartment at 10 p.m., according to Portland Communications Director Jessica Grondin.

Two people were arrested as a result of the search warrant, according to Grondin, but their names and charges were not disclosed.

One person was arrested on drug-related charges and another was taken into custody after jumping from a second-story window, Grondin said. No significant injuries were reported.

The residence has been the focus of a monthlong investigation into suspected drug activity in the area, and the search warrant was part of an overall police effort to curb criminal activity in the area.
