WARREN, Maine — A Maine State Prison inmate serving a 20-year sentence died on Wednesday, officials said.

Jerry Robin Lydick, 56, was pronounced dead at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Maine Department of Corrections Director or Special Projects Scott Fish.

State police and the State Medical Examiner’s office are reviewing Lydick’s death, as is standard protocol.

Lydick, who is from Penobscot County, had served 2 years and 3 months of a gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact sentence.

Lydick, who was sentenced in June 2012, had been scheduled for release in 2032.
