BANGOR, Maine — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 26-year-old local woman wanted in connection with a stabbing earlier this month.

Cassandra Means is being sought by Bangor police on a charge of elevated aggravated assault in an Oct. 5 incident that started in the parking lot of a Harlow Street nightclub, according to Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton.

Cotton said Means was apparently involved in some sort of fracas just after drinking hours ended at 1 a.m., but the sergeant said no stabbing occurred in the parking lot.

At 2:41 a.m., police were called to an Ohio Street apartment when it was reported a woman had suffered serious stab injuries, Cotton said. Police believe Means and the victim are acquaintances.

Cotton said police are not sure what prompted the stabbing, but the incident remains under investigation. The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Anybody who has seen Means or knows where she is should contact Bangor police at 947-7384. The department’s tip line can be accessed by pressing extension 6.
