PORTLAND, Maine — A local woman was arrested Wednesday on a burglary charge in connection with an August home invasion, police said.

Dorothy Fickett, 37, of Portland, was taken into custody in connection with a Pine Street burglary that occurred on Aug. 2, according to Portland police Lt. James Sweatt.

Fickett allegedly had entered the residence via an open window, according to Sweatt.

Fickett had been arrested on Aug. 5 after a nighttime burglary on May Street, and police believe a dozen similar burglaries in the city’s West End may have occurred since Aug. 1, Sweatt said.

Fickett was also arrested for violating bail conditions on Sept. 29 after she had been released following her Aug. 5 arrest, Sweatt said.

Fickett is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $1,000 bail. Additional charges are expected.
