BANGOR, Maine — A meeting of the creditors in the bankruptcy of the corporation that owns the land and buildings at the shuttered East Millinocket paper mill has been set for 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Penobscot County Probate Court in the historic courthouse on Hammond Street in Bangor.
GNP East Inc. filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy Friday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Bangor. The corporation stated in its filing that it has fewer than 50 creditors.
The firm listed assets of between $10 million and $50 million and liabilities of between $1 million and $10 million, according to the document posted on the court’s electronic case filing system.
Information about exactly how much the GNP East owes and to whom, as well the value of its assets is to be filed by Oct. 31.
