ROCKLAND, Maine — A man is being held at the Knox County Jail after police said he threatened people with a weapon that turned out to be a BB gun.

Brian Robilland, 20, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, criminal trespass and possession of drugs. He was ordered held on $1,500 cash bail.

Robilland went Monday evening to the Thorndike apartments where he pulled a gun and threatened people, according to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower. Police responded and located Robiland early Tuesday and apprehended him. Tower said the people threatened did not realize it was not a real gun.

Robilland is scheduled to make his initial appearance Wednesday afternoon in Rockland District Court if he does not raise the bail.
