WATERVILLE, Maine — Both women wanted for questioning in connection with a stabbing that occurred Tuesday night on a fire road off Neck Road in China are now in custody, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said late Thursday afternoon.

Carissa Butkewicz met with state troopers Thursday afternoon and was charged with a probation violation, he said.

Tiffany Glidden, 20, of Waterville turned herself in at the Waterville police station on Wednesday night, McCausland said.

Both women were taken to Kennebec County Jail, McCausland said. He said neither has been charged in connection with the stabbing, which remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, the victim, Katheryn Hopkins, 24, remains at MaineGeneral Hospital and is recovering, McCausland said.
