ROCKLAND, Maine — A 24-year-old Rockland woman was arrested Friday after police said she injured a man with her car following a dispute.

According to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower, Jessica Kelley was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred Friday morning shortly after 8:30 when police were called to a report of a domestic disturbance on Fulton Street. When officers arrived, they learned that a man had gotten on top of the hood of a car and dared Kelley to drive off, police reported. She sped off for about 100 feet on Fulton Street and then slammed on the brakes, causing the man to be thrown to the pavement.

The man refused to be taken to the hospital but did suffer injuries, Tower said.

Kelley was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland and released on bail.
